What’s Going On: Early June

Hello everyone! I’m just checking in with you guys and letting you know what’s going on in my life and what’s going on as far as this blog and to inform you about little administrative things that have changed.

My Life:

I’ve returned to The States after a long day of travelling. I stayed up for a whole 24 hours at least so I was pretty exhausted coming home. It’s been a great time in Ireland and I hope to be on this side of the Atlantic soon (actually it won’t be long, more on that later). I’m very lucky to have travelled to many great places and I am happy to share stories about them. I got to go to Universal Studios with my boyfriend and see Diagon Alley. I’ve seen Hogsmeade a few years ago just when it was opening. Universal did a great job with Diagon Alley and I am very happy I went. I got a Ravenclaw scarf and a Ravenclaw patch. The only thing I wish they did differently at the Harry Potter sections of the parks was have more vegetarian options at the restaurants. I’m sure there’s lots of Harry Potter fans who are vegetarians! As well as being a classic rock fan, I really like movies. One of my favourite movie and book series is Harry Potter. This week I also got to go to the beach and shopping. I got two Simpsons action figures of Roger Daltrey and John Entwistle. All I need is the Pete Townshend one to complete The Who. I also got a Sailor Moon shirt. Pretty cool! Time has flown by and I’ll be packing my bags for an English Channel cruise that will go to Spain and France. I won’t be updating social media then, but I really need time to sit back and enjoy what going on holiday is really about and enjoy the simple pleasures. I will keep you updated and let you know how I liked that in the next instalment of What’s Going On. For the trips I go on, I’ll be taking pictures and sharing a few of the best shots on this blog. I’m thinking I could do these updates fortnightly.

As far as TV shows and other hobbies, I’m watching Steven Universe (can’t wait for more episodes) and Game of Thrones. I really should have gotten into Game of Thrones sooner. Season 3 of Orange Is The New Black was released a day early so I’m happy about that. Although I’ll be going on holiday tonight, it’s nice to space the episodes out instead of binge watching and then wondering what I have to do for another year while I wait for the next season to be released.

The Blog:

It’s getting better all the time, to reference The Beatles! Looking at the stats every week I am happy to say that I am reaching more and more readers and getting a solid fanbase. Thank you everyone! This couldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you.

The biggest change I am introducing is opening up the blog to reader submissions and guest posts. I really encourage discussion and I want this blog to be a conversation. A conversation is a two way street and I want you to share your opinions in the comments section. If I forgot a musician you like, let me know in the comments section! I learn something new every day! Classic rock fans are as diverse a group as the musicians and I want to discuss that on this blog and I can’t do this without your help! I would love to do a series of posts where you can share your classic rock stories. Some ideas include a concert you went to, how you got into classic rock, maybe a story about how you met your idol, about your favourite album. The only rule is to keep the stories respectful. This is not a gossip site. Your stories can be any length and there’s no deadline. If you want to include pictures, feel free to include them. Pictures can really enhance a story.

Now the question is how do I get these stories. There’s a few ways. You can send them to my facebook page or if you prefer email, just click here to use the contact box on the contact me page. Or if you just want the email it’s crazyonclassicrockATgmailDOTcom.

A little change I’ve made is changing the colour scheme slightly. The menu still looks blue, but it’s a darker blue for better readability. I hope this enhances the experience of reading this blog.

Since I was very busy coming back from Ireland I will not be posting a Diversity of Classic Rock post today. I don’t want to rush it and end up making something that isn’t up to my standards. I know you’ll enjoy the next post. I have two posts that I’m working on for the next few weeks and I can’t wait to share them with you!

Until next time!
